


The CMSs mentioned above are primarily text-based content management systems, that is the content is predominantly text based. However, in all the cases described, each of the CMSs can provide quite sophisticated image management tools for the many images that are contained in the text content, such as in the case of technical manuals.
However, where the content of publications are predominantly image based (with minimum text), such as in the case of catalogues, using a different type of CMS may be required; such CMSs are referred to as DAMs. Of course DAMs and traditional CMSs can be integrated and in most cases this is what normally happens.
