X-window – the XML broker – has long been committed to providing its commercial and technical publishing customers with up to the minute information about the ever-evolving publishing production tools. Each year new XML tools emerge. 2010 was no exception, and 2011–12 promises to deliver yet more production functionality founded on XML. X-window brought together a number of XML topics and associated technologies for a one day seminar that showed a number of today’s XML production, storage and management tools that really can make a difference to a publishing environment.
As well as being able to see these tools in use, we also brought together experienced practitioners in the field of XML content creation, management and publishing to pass on their knowledge and practical experience. To help maximise the effectiveness of a current production environment or any future XML publishing projects, our aim was to ensure that all attendees left with a clear understanding of some of the leading XML technologies.
Executives, content managers, and publishing production staff from commercial publishers, service bureaux, typesetters and technical documentation production companies responsible for day to day publishing production attended this one day seminar.
